Around the same time his uncle started to teach him the fundamentals of Tibetan Buddhism. Lama Yeshe joined the Zigar monastery in Dege, which housed around 300 monks. Lama Yeshe spent many years studying at the Zigar before leaving Tibet and travelling to India where he received teachings from His Holiness Dalai Lama. Following this Lama Yeshe received Great Perfection (Buddha in the Palm of Your Hand) teaching from His Holiness Penor Rinpoche (Head of Nyingma-pa school). Lama Lhakpa Yeshe now teaches throughout the UK. |
